Online Lessons F.A.Q.

Q: What kind of equipment do I need for online lessons?

A: Any device with a camera and microphone will work (a smartphone, tablet, or laptop are all great choices.) Many students like to wear headphones during their lesson to be able to hear clearly over their violin. We can do lessons on Skype or Zoom depending on your preference.

Q: What type of music will you teach me?

A: I’m passionate about Canadian fiddle music and I’m an experienced celtic, bluegrass, and classical player. The type of music you play can be up to you and it can change over time.

Q: How old does my child have to be?

A: You know your child best. With enthusiastic parent participation, I have successful students as young as three. The adult’s willingness to learn alongside their child is necessary until around age six or seven.

Q: Am I too old?

A: Nope.

Q: What are your rates?

A: A half-hour lesson is $30.
